Emily Smith has been enchanting folk fans for ages, with husband Jamie McClennan (on fiddle and guitar) part of her backing band for 17 years. 

Having settled in Dumfries and Galloway, they’ve now decided to release their first album as a duo, and their wonderfully compatible voices and musicality bring to mind pairings such as The Civil Wars and The Rails. 

Jamie has penned eight of the ten tracks, including the gorgeous Hummingbird and The Sweetest Girl, written about the couple’s baby daughter.  There’s a sympathetic cover of ‘60s peace anthem Better Than War, and an arrangement of Sailin’s A Weary Life.
